Our children continue their journey through Brockton by entering Red kites class which brings together Key Stage 2 (Year 3,4,5 and 6. Our teacher is Miss Nicholls and our teaching assistants are Mrs Wright (HLTA), Mrs Williams (HLTA) and Mrs Conmy (TA).
About our Classroom
It is our job in Red kites to continue to make sure your child, whatever their unique personality and needs, continue to enjoy a positive journey through school. We aim to nurture a love of learning and discovery that will last a lifetime. We are passionate about books and love reading; many of our activities and lessons are inspired by the books we have read. We also enjoy art and being creative and we spend a lot of time outdoors exploring our wonderful outdoor learning areas and forest school.
What your child will learn
Each week we focus literacy (reading and writing), maths, science, PSHE, RE, PE (2 lessons), history/geography, art/design technology, music, ICT and french. Lessons are designed so children access tasks at the right level for them.
We follow the same routine each day to provide stability, familiarity and to encourage children to continue to develop their independence.

Home learning
We set a short, weekly home-learning task that reinforces classroom learning — designed to take about 30–40 minutes. We encourage daily reading and will send stage appropriate books home with your child.
