Lunchtime is a relaxed and enjoyable time.Children are encouraged to sit in mixed age groups, with the older children supporting the younger children. Children can choose to have a school meal or bring a packed lunch.

Free School Meals
School meals
Our school meals are provided by Apetito at a cost of £2.60 per day. We have a fortnightly menu cycle with three choices per day. There is always a vegetarian option and a jacket potato with filling option. The menu is regularly reviewed by our kitchen staff to ensure that we a providing a healthy and balanced menu with plenty of variety. Each term pupils are encouraged to feedback and design the upcoming term’s menu with a pupil panel meeting with staff to share feedback.
Our menu is sent out with the bulletin and parents can book meals in advance via the Teachers2Parents app.
Universal Free School Meals/Free School Meals
School meals are free for all children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 (Universal Free School Meals) – a saving of £13.00 per week.
Free School Meals (FSM) are available for children in any year group if their family meets certain income-related criteria (such as receiving certain benefits). If you are eligible, applying for FSM is important – even if your child already receives Universal Free School Meals – because the school will receive extra funding to support your child’s education. Please visit Shropshire County Council website (My Free School Meals) to see if you are eligible.
Packed lunches
You may wish to send a packed lunch for your child to eat in school. We encourage healthy, balanced packed lunches to help children stay focused and energised throughout the day. Please can we ask that all drinks brought into school are in watertight, reusable plastic bottles. Water is always available for children to drink during the day. Please do not send any food in packed lunches which contain nuts.
Snacks
Fruit is provided free of charge for children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2. If your child is in Key Stage 2 (Years 3, 4, 5, or 6) then please send them in with a healthy snack for break time, such as a piece of fruit, bread sticks, crackers or raisins. Please do not send nuts into school as these can cause severe allergic reactions for some children. Fruit for Key Stage 2 children can be ordered from the office at a cost of £8 per term.
