Start and finish times
The playground gates open at around 8.40am and children will be asked to go to their classrooms at 8.45am to be ready to start the school day at 8.50am. Please ensure your child is on time, it can make a big difference to their learning when they are not rushed and can settle into the classroom with their peers at the beginning of the day. Please make sure children are not left unattended on the school premises until they have been taken inside by a teacher/teaching assistant.
The school day finishes at 3.20pm. The playground gates open at around 3.10pm to allow parents and carers to wait in the playground. On Fridays all parents, carers and other family members are welcome to join us for our weekly ‘Well Done Assembly’ where we showcase some of the work the children have completed through the week, and celebrate those children who have stood out – whether that be for their effort, kindness or achievement. Well Done Assembly starts at 2:50pm and is held in the School Hall.

What should my child bring to school each day?
- A reusable water bottle filled with water (no juice/squash). We have water dispensers in each classroom for children to refill their bottles if necessary.
- A school bookbag or rucksack. Please check bags every day for notices from school and to find your child’s reading book.
- Children in reception and years 1 and 2 are provided with a piece of fruit every day at break time. If your child is in years 3, 4, 5, or 6 then please send them in with a healthy snack for break time, such as a piece of fruit, bread sticks, crackers or raisins. Please do not send nuts into school as these can cause severe allergic reactions for some children. Fruit for KS2 children can be ordered from the office at a cost of £8 per term.

Collection
When your child starts school with us we will ask you to complete a form letting us know who will usually pick up your child at the end of the school day – this may be a parent or another named adult.
If someone different is going to collect your child or they are going home with a friend, please let the school office know. No child will be released from school unless we have received notification that there is a different arrangement for that day.
If your child travels to and from school in a taxi we will ask you to complete a form to indicate which days they will be using the taxi. If there are changes to the schedule please do let the office know and another form will be made available.

Parking
There is a small car park by the school playground – access to our neighbours’ drives is through this car park so please park considerately. Otherwise there is plenty of car parking available on the roadside.
Illness in school
If your child falls ill during the school day we will contact you and ask you to collect them. In the event of a more serious accident or injury we will make every attempt to contact you whilst administering first aid and seeking further help if necessary.
